We believe that students are an untapped resource in creating engaging school experiences and increased learning and confidence. We facilitate focus groups and conduct surveys with students to help schools, districts, programs and systems deeply understand the student experience. These voices inform solutions to issues facing classrooms and schools as well as provide insight into the programs and practices that best empower students to achieve at high levels and feel connected.
We also believe that Spoken Word is an incredible art that has potential to connect and empower students, academically, socially, and emotionally. We provide Spoken Word events and classes customized to your context. As an co-curricular event it can offer a voice to the school and local community, be part of facilitating conversations on important issues, and even be part of a unit in a classroom where students engage to achieve a set of standards. Quivale Roberts is an experienced educators, artist, and writer who facilitates this work.
We work with educators who are committed to continuous learning. As a result, Lighthouse periodically hosts networking events where educators come together to discuss important issues and find solutions, support and resources in creating outstanding school experiences. We specialize in designing learning experiences for teachers and educators that are unique and empowering. This project focuses on designing innovative ways that educators can tap into their own experience and expertise and develop their practice in ways that impact students and learning.
We are committed to creating a new vision for assessment. One in which all stakeholders are empowered by the information assessment has to offer. Our assessment work is about creating a more balanced and innovative use of assessment through its design, use and communication. All too often assessment is used in ways in which it was not intended, creating school cultures that are left fractured and students who are stressed and not served well. We breakdown the barriers of traditional classrooms to increase engagement and enable students to learn in bold new ways. Unbound provides services that facilitate professional learning in our model which capitalizes on the engagement elements of choice, challenges, flexible pacing and mentoring while integrating personalized learning, blended learning, competency-based learning, and coaching.
We host retreats, where teams of teachers come to work with our designers to create engaging lessons. We provide design camps onsite to help schools create their own engaging learning experiences. We coach to tap the expertise of educators and students in ways that help them create an amazing experience for all students.
In addition, we will be launching the Unbound Academy, a lab school obsessed with the student experience and integrates personalized learning, blended learning, competency-based learning and coaching.
